Moorpark California is located in the eastern Section of Ventura County. The city was originally built in around High Street known as “Old Town Moorpark” and is the historic center of the city. Tradition holds that the name of the city was taken from the Moorpark Apricot. The city was incorporated in 1987. The city grew from the Old Town city center to the east known as Campus Park with Moopark Community College as the main attraction surrounded by homes. Just north of the Old Town area is the newest residential developments including the luxury homes at the Moorpark Country Club. To the south of Old Town is the Peach Hill and Mountain Meadows neighborhoods. This area contains a large portion of the city’s population as most of those homes here were built within the last 30 years. Moorpark High School and a neighborhood Shopping center including the Arroyo Vista Park and Recreation Center are located in this area.
Moorpark’s population is just over 34,000 residents, yet even thought this community is tucked away off the beaten path, Moorpark’s real estate values trend high than neighboring Simi Valley and are not as susceptible to volatile swings in the market as some other areas.
