Making the Simi Valley Real Estate Experience Easier

Making the Simi Valley Real Estate Experience EasierPaperwork Overload

The mountain of paperwork that is required to buy or sell a home in Simi Valley today can be overwhelming. Because people are so busy and spread out; the fax machine has helped ease the execution of documents, but this old technology has some major drawbacks. First and foremost, faxing and re-faxing deteriorate the quality of the document. They become unreadable after they get faxed back and forth several times. Second, there are security issues with the whether the signature(s) are authentic and also the fact that sensitive personal information can sit on an office fax machine for many to see.

While I have moved to an efax account and all faxes are delivered to my email; this still does not address the quality problems and signature issues that plague faxed documents.

For the past year I have been using a service call Docusign. This product allows for high quality PDF copies of documents to be electronically signed. This solves many issues of the our beloved dinosaur technology – the fax.

Docusign has posted on their blog a great article explaining data security. See: Data Security – Is it On our Mind?

I really believe that this is a terrific service, I have been using it with my clients and some of the immediate benefits other than security and cleaner documents are; paper is eliminated (Thinking Green Technologies).  My clients have a copy on their computer that they can easily find.  My clients who are very busy can save time by addressing any paperwork from their location and at their pace.  Last,  Many times I am on the go working out of my car.  I can pull into any Starbucks, Coffee Bean and even McDonalds; access the Internet and move files around from my laptop without being tied to the office file cabinet or desk.

I like the article, and the fact that you’re a ‘green thinker’. Keep up the good work!

    Ted,

Great post on document quality. I think that’s going to continue to be a problem as we transition from an analog to digital world. You also bring up a great point – the mobile office. Mobility affords a high degree of flexibility, which cannot come at the cost of productivity. DocuSign’s electronic signature and online contract execution service allows you to be both mobile AND productive. I think that’s a pretty powerful value proposition. Thanks again for the post!

    Best,
    An

Client Testimonials

Ted actually helped us find a new home AND sell two homes. He was beyond helpful with everything. When looking for a home, Ted didn't waste our time…My husband and I are really busy so this meant a lot to us….he always had plenty of houses lined up for us to look at and he acted as our personal chauffeur. He really knows Simi, so he knew exactly where to take us….and ultimately he found us our beautiful new home. Selling the other two was a breeze…Ted took care of everything. No complaints here!

Professional and very easy to work with.

Ted's continuing knowledge of local real estate markets enabled an immediate, correct valuation of the house we sold. Calm and competent throughout the process, he remained unflappable through the invevitable hurdles. His escrow team at Keller Williams were perfect.
