The Ventura County Tax Assessor’s Office is accepting Calamity Claims by filling out a Calamity Claim Form.
This does not forgive property taxes, nor gives any kind of extension to pay property taxes.
For Woolsey Fire Property Tax Relief , this form must be filled out and submitted within 12 months of the loss. The loss must be greater than $10,000.00. The form will be reviewed for the potential reassessment of the value of the property.
The Ventura County Tax Collector has not issued any extensions past the December 10th date. If you cannot make the payment by December 10th due to the Woolsey fire, the Ventura County Tax Collector does have a form to request to have the late penalties waived. This is not an automatic approval, please read the form carefully to see if you may qualify. If you can make your payment by December 10th, do so and fight out the new assessment value of your property separately. Hours of operation will be Monday – Friday, 9 A.M. to 4 P.M. (no lunch hour closure). Payments will NOT be accepted after 4 P.M.
